SFOBB Self-Anchored Suspension Bridge Project

The scope of this project involves the main cornerstone suspension bridge that connects the "Skyway" structure to Yerba Buena Island in San Francisco Bay. The bridge is a self-anchored suspension bridge which is comprised of a single tower, orthotropic box girders, cable suspension, and two hinges, one on each end of the cable system. The work also includes tower saddles, electrical, mechanical, SWPPP construction activities and heavy coordination with funding, regulatory and environmental agencies.

Ghirardelli Associates is working with the City of Richmond Redevelopment Agency to complete a number of deferred maintenance projects including lighting replacement, paving repairs, irrigation system replacement, rip rap replacement and construction of a new restroom facility. Responsibilities include defining scope, developing cost estimates and specifications, procurement management, and construction management.
